Why would my dentist refer me to an oral surgeon to get a tooth pulled?
I have the whole tooth, it's not chipped at all. It is really bad infected though. Do oral surgeons cost alot more than regular dentist when it comes to pulling a tooth?
It depends on the oral surgeon. Insurance should cover a great deal of it and you will have a co-pay. I hope you have insurance. Dentists often refer to oral surgeons if the tooth roots are deep and twisted together. They have to do a little deeper digging. Dentists used to do this. I don't know why or when the change. Good luck. I am suprised you were not given antibiotics by the dentist though. Usually they all prefer to have the infection gone prior to tooth extraction. God Bless.
