So what all do I really need to do to treat thrush?
My baby and I are being treated (2nd time) for thrush. We did 7 days of Nystatin treatment for her and I'm still putting Nystatin cream on my nipples... I can't tell if my nipples are red and chafed from nursing or because I still have thrush... ??? So I want to make sure it doesn't come back this time. What about the whole washing clothes w/ vinegar thing? Does it work? If it does, how do I do it? Do I need to throw out any bottles and pacifiers I've used? What about my pumping attachments? Or can I just use my sterilizer? Do I need to boil them? What about boiling them in vinegar?
Also, the oral Nystatin says to refrigerate but I never did. I actually didn't know it had to be refrigerated becuase I missed the label on the side of the bottle... is this bad?
Help, please!? I don't want to have to do this again 
when my son was a baby he also had thrush and i hated it!!!! well first of all yes you need to boil his paci's, bottles anything that he sucks on thru out the day,. so if he takes a paci you might want back up ones for awhile. when he's taking the paci and has thrush the thrush will get on the paci and when you give it to him your giving hiim the thrush back. hope i didn't confuse you. i had maybe 3-4 paci's and when he got done with one at nap time/bed time i put it away and when i was down to the last one i threw them in a pan of water and boiled it for 5 mins. but do that with the bottle nipples also or throw them in the dishwasher. as for it being in the fridge no it shouldn't have hurt it any, i didn't put our in the fridge. if your almost out of nystaitn and he still has the thrush call the doctors they may give you more, it may just need a longer to heal. i think we went thru 2 bottles before his cleared up. or may try a different kind. just remember boil paci's, bottles, pumping sheidls, anything that comes in contact with your nipples or his mouth!! good luck
