You can use a waterpick, but don't give up flossing altogether.

Our dentist says the irrigators are not as good as flossing. My husband has had one for years and used it faithfully. He still had to have his gums surgically cleaned (including cutting of the gums, scraping and stitches) recently. The dentist recommends that he floss daily.

Try Reach Gentle Gum Care. It is a fuzzy type of floss that is easier on the gums. I use it a lot and I really like it.
